A Call to Creativity is an easy-to-read, thought-provoking book written by Luke Reynolds. His personal accounts of activities in his classroom are funny, heart-warming and real. Reading this book will challenge educators to make learning meaningful in their own classrooms in order to keep students engaged. There IS a way to avoid the monotony of covering one standard after another with didactic, lecture-style teaching, and Reynolds has mastered it. Although Luke Reynolds is a high school English teacher, the points that he makes and ideas he provides can be adapted for classrooms of any age. If you are feeling bored, frustrated, or as if what you are doing in the classroom is not working, this is an inspirational read!
