Numerous illustrations and plans offer clear and precise insights into the construction of this new development in building design. Up to now double-skin facades have been used mainly for large buildings such as the debis headquarters on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. They can be used, however, with equal success for smaller buildings as a means of reducing the ingress of external noise and improving ventilation.

About the Author
The Authors: Eberhard Oesterle is managing partner of the neginerring office DS-Plan. He works as an engineering consultant specializing in the energy optimization of buildings. He is the author of numerous publications and holds an honorary professorship at the University of Stuttgart.

Rolf-Dieter Lieb is an engineering consultant specializing ub aerophysics and building physics as well as in energy management at DS-Plan.

Martin Lutz is an architect and managing partner at DS-Plan. He has designed several new facade developments.

Winfried Heusler is director for aluminum technology at the Schco concern. He has been responsible for many fundamental developmetns and has written widely on the subject.

This is a somewhat technical book for construction professionals. Not for idly paging through, despite its attractive, even stylish, execution (although my copy's hard cover was printed upside down). Only commercial architecture, only buildings in Germany.

Excellent resource to learn the Academic Word List

Excellent resource for any high school or beginning college student. If your student is a reader they will know most of these words and how to correctly use them in a sentence. I purchased this workbook for my son to fully acquire the academic word list for college writing, he asked for a resource that would improve his vocabulary for college papers. The academic word list is a good start and this workbook includes short readings using the words in context, not just drills.

Good reference but a bit steep on the price

I bought this book recently, as it seemed to provide some information about dealing with stocks that were handed down, along with what I perceived as the broad coverage it provided on several relevant topics. I am a PIO and have dealings with India both on the business and personal front. Matters covered in the book such as Income Tax, property, securities, banking, gifting, etc. are all relevant and useful.

This book is current up to 2012, but there have been several changes since then in the law. It would be good to see a supplement or an updated edition soon. The price is a bit steep, as not everyone will get as much value out of it. It is a good reference and starting point for google searches now. It would be great to have regional law supplements as those topics are a reference black hole.

I am happy to have a copy as a ready reference, but much of the information is actually available online, though requires time and patience to find.

I'd up the rating to 4/5 if (a) it were more current or an update would be offered at a less princely price and (b) if the price were around the $15 range. i.e. it is a comment on its value to me than its broad content. From a content perspective, if it covered regional/local law/practices, it would be of greater value.

I made this purchase because as other reviewers have mentioned finding this information online can be incredibly challenging and time consuming. I was searching for medical visa information and this was one of the only resources I was able to find with comprehensive details. There was also an abundance of other information. Best resource for NRIs I've been able to find.

I purchased this about a week ago (Jan 2016) and the book is current - looks like it was just updated.

Must read for every NRI/POI

It was amazing book. It covers all aspects of NRI's concern right from passport, investment, business set up and even schooling. Very comprehensive book and very well covered.
I recommend this book to each and every person in family who is planning to settle abroad or planning to come back to India.
Mr. Chand has done very good job of compiling all topics in one book.

Prior to reading this book I knew almost nothing about compliance. The book is well written and easy to understand for anyone that has formal accounting education. The book provided a tremendous amount of insight, and was very practical. The book has helped out at work tremendously.

I like this study guide

This book was a recommended study guide for my microbiology class. I found this book to be great for test preparation. The last review seemed to be mean-spirited. How could the previous reviewer make such an assumption without even reading the book? I wouldn't be surprised that this title appeared as a recommened reading in other book listings because it's a great study guide. Anyway, this book contributed to me getting excellent grades in my microbiology class. This book showed me which info was important for my exams.

Excellent reference for the boards

I'm a medical student and found this book to be an excellent study guide. It helped me with studying for the USLME Step 1. I don't agree at all with the previous negative review. I give this book 5 stars because it showed me the type of questions to study for on my medical microbiology exams. It also proved to be a wonderful reference for USLME Step 1.
