NOT kusudama, NOT for beginners - Highly technical, assumes you know all traditional origami bases first (frog, balloon, etc.)

Extremely dry technical illustrations, no step-by-step instructions. This is an old, technical manual that assumes you are already an expert in normal and advanced origami, with a new cover that gives the impression it's going to give you step-by-step instructions. However, the first step in each project is actually a finished origami base, such as the "frog" base becomes the "crane." But far more complicated. My 12-yr-old has an engineering mind and folds origami and cuts kirigami at expert levels, but this non-kusudama guide left us both struggling. Search here on Amazon for "kusudama" to find the correct 3D origami.

Fabulous book! If you understand basic origami instructions, this book is great. Don't buy the used copies though...I had to return mine as it came missing pages 2-18...not acceptable condition in my book, otherwise the book itself is great! :-)

Simplicity + Vivid Communication = Good Medicine

There are plenty of screeching voices on the subject of the modern youth ministry. This book is not one of them. What this book DOES accomplish is it becomes a wise guide for those who choose to take up the challenge implied by the book's subtitle. It is not guilt-manipulation aimed at the older generation. It is not the I-am-really-hip-and-have-the-perfect-program-for-your-church kind of book. It is not a the-modern-youth-group-model-is-of-the-devil version of youth ministry. No where were the words "family integrated model" substituted for the words "Jesus Christ" like I have seen in other places. What any reader will see is a deeply felt compassion for drawing in youth who don't live in a traditional, nuclear family setting combined with a working knowledge of and fideilty to Christ and His gospel. The author combines his compassion with a nitty-gritty knowledge of how things ARE not how we WISH them to be idealistically. The reader will also find his or her own assumptions challenged as the author is hard on both the older and younger generations. An example of one of the major challenges to the older generations is the call to know the mind of Christ better, to not view the younger generations as belonging "over there" in their own strata of ministry but see them as "our kids" who we love and serve and fold into our weekly life. Church members do this in order to become the wise guides that this book calls them to be so that an orphaned generation can once again feel like the heavenly Father wants them for his sons and daughters.

A keen vision

While in high school, I was involved in a youth group under Scott Wilcher's leadership. I am not exaggerating when I say it was a life-changing experience. This book has been long-awaited by many, including myself. It did not disappoint. I believe the book Scott has written is incredibly important for the Church, and is especially significant for this generation. Having seen direct application of many concepts that Scott talks about in this book, I am confident that its content will serve to edify the reader, while renewing their mindset toward youth. Whether young or adult, I believe the message of The Orphaned Generation is relevant and valuable to all.

Reading this book is very similar to having a conversation with Scott in real life. The conversation may come to a close, but it creates a lasting impact. And when you walk away, it's with a refreshed spirit, a gentle - but bold - call to action, and a deep, genuine desire to reflect the Father's heart.

This is an inspirational and practical book to read. Every student minister should read this, then share it with his/her senior pastor and then share a copy with every adult in the church. We will share this with the student ministers in the churches in the Norfolk Area Baptist Association and encourge all who know Christ to take up the role of a "wise guide".

Neal Adams story and art

Including the stories that appeared in Aquaman. This book tells the whole story with the Sensei (leading up to the stories that would occur in Batman and Detective with the League of Assasins) It also has Adams Brave and the Bold story where Batman's costume is colored by zip-a-tone. A very weird, but cool effect.

deadman walks again.

These Deadman stories are fun. I read both Deadman book one & two in two days. I plan to read more volumes soon. This book had everything, Batman, Aquaman, and the Challengers of the Unknown. It was too bad the original Deadman series was canceled before it could get even better, but a least Deadman is still around in comics. If you want to see more Deadman adventures, read book two of Books of magic, And of course Justice League dark. I can hardly wait for more Deadman adventures.

Neal Adams remains my favorite comic artist of all time. Before he and Denny O'Neil redefined the Dark Knight (and likely saved him from the joke he had become in pop culture due to the old TV show) Adams took a B tier character, Deadman, and wrote stories that still hold up today. If you are a fan of Neal Adams you should own this.

Very sweet story

I took a chance on this book despite the stupid title and I'm glad I did. It's a clean romance about a h who steps in to 'save' her family from financial ruin, when her father loses the family money. She has 2 very self absorbed sisters who refuse to help out. The h's father contacts a distant relation, an old Duke and explains the family plight. The Duke suggests that one of the sisters goes to live with him for a few months and after that if he's happy, he'll make her a Duchess in the future. The older 2 sisters remember what an old dragon the Duke was and refuse to go, so the h goes off to make the sacrifice. She meets one of the Duke's relations, a very handsome Earl and starts to fall for him over time but she knows she can't go back on her promises to her family and the Duke.

In some ways it was predictable but it was such a delightful, happy read that it was well worth the time I spent reading it.

I thought that this was a good book.

I thought that this was a good book...but there was not enough romance between the main characters in the story...there was no holding hands, no kissing, there was no real affection between them..even if there are no love-making scenes I still wanna see real affection between the main characters...and in this story it just wasn't there..the focus was on everyone else except the main characters...

I was...bored. The whole book was in the main characters perspective the whole time. The way this book reads seems to just hover above the story, not giving to much detail/character development and at the same time allowing the reader just enough material to follow the story. Like I said, I was bored.
